Cornerstone Home Inspections

Promoting safety, preserving value, and bringing peace of mind

Standard Residential Inspection

We are trained and certified to thoroughly inspect site-built, modular, and manufactured homes. Our work covers roof, exterior, foundation, interior, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, decks, patios, attached garages, and other visible and accessible systems and components. Our standard residential inspection includes infrared thermal imaging as a supplementary inspection tool when useful for identifying conditions that warrant closer evaluation. We invite you to participate with us as we inspect, if you wish, and provide and explain a thorough report within hours of completion.

Annual Home Checkups

Once you've had a standard inspection, we can perform annual checkups on the home's condition to help you stay in front of and address anything that might cause harm to the home, to you, or your family.

Mold Testing

Mold can cause allergic reactions and damage your home. We are trained and certified to test for mold and look for its causes, usually moisture intrusion. We will note obvious mold during our standard residential inspection if observed, but the mold inspection includes air and surface sampling, and lab tests to confirm the mold. We can perform a limited, targeted inspection of a specific space and apparent mold, or a general inspection of the entire building that includes several air samples.

Radon Detection

Radon is an invisible, odorless radioactive gas that is naturally produced by the earth and tends to collect in basements. It is known to cause lung cancer, and is found in higher levels in about one in fifteen homes. We are trained and certified to detect its presence so that you can decide how to address it.

WDO: Wood-Destroying Organism Inspection

Termites, carpenter ants, fungal rot and similar organisms can cause tremendous damage to a home's structure. We are trained and certified to inspect for visible evidence of wood-destroying organisms so that appropriate corrective action can be considered.

Contractor Oversight

If you are having a home built, a remodel, or other contractor work, Cornerstone can act as an independent, objective third party who confirms that the work is being done correctly.
